Different, not in a bad way, just... different
Review Score:

(8/10)
I was a little disappointed after the perfection of their debut album and Version 2.0, but it's still not that bad. The only thing is that for some reason it sounds like a completely different group altogether, one that i would listen to, but not as much as the actual Garbage, not that this isn't actual Garbage, it's just the evolved Garbage. There are a lot more slow ballads and the tunes are popped up even more than in Version 2.0. Personally, I really do like all these songs individually, just not together in an album. Here's a song by song review...
SHUT YOUR MOUTH: the first track and my favorite on the album, this is what i remember Garbage sounding like, the raw energy and cleverly written lyrics sung angrily by Shirley Manson, great opener
ANDROGYNY: ironically, the second song and my second favorite right after shut your mouth, this starts to show how much Garbage has changed, but in this song it's changed in a good way, clever lyrics and very catchy
CAN'T CRY THESE TEARS: i can tolerate it, but it's a bit too bubble gum for my tastes, i like the lyrics, just not really how they're presented
TIL THE DAY I DIE: ok, this so could've been a madonna song, my god, this is pure pop right here and my least favorite on the album, it does not sound like my shirley at all
CUP OF COFFEE: takes a while to grow on you like most slow songs do but it does and it's very depressing but in a way touching
SILENCE IS GOLDEN: yes! just when i thought i lost my pure Garbage for good, this one blasts in my eardrum with the shirley we know and love and just plain rocks, it sounds a little more like their first album
CHERRY LIPS: it's so catchy that you can't hate it, you find yourself singin it and you enjoy, it's one of the "new Garbage sounds" as i like to call them that i like
BREAKING UP THE GIRL: sounds like it could've been on Version 2.0 and that's a good thing, it's not too catchy but it is catchy so that's a good song in my book
DRIVE YOU HOME: my favorite slow ballads on the album that just sounds magical and sad, but very strong
PARADE: another Version 2.0 type song that has a very good chorus and good instrumentally so this joins Shut Your Mouth, Silence is Golden, and Breaking Up the Girl as the old-sounding Garbage songs on this album
NOBODY LOVES YOU: very dark and gothic and quite possibly the most depressing song Garbage has ever done but to me that's a good thing, it's always good to have a song to cry with and to be angry with and this one is it
UNTOUCHABLE: kinda out of place in the album, cuz it's between two very depressing songs and this one's very upbeat, so it's a wonderfully written song, it just belong earlier with Silence is Golden probally
SO LIKE A ROSE: be patient with this one and you'll like it, it's the longest Garbage song ever released (six and a half minutes) but it's a good song if you're patient with it
Well, as we see with all their albums so far, Garbage evolves and always changes, they never release the same kinds of stuff which is a good thing and now i'm anxious to see what kinda music they'll have for us in the future.
