and this cd will continue to breathe and live...if it could, for a long time because it's a brilliant effort from Garbage.

I bought this album when it first came out and it's been one of the few albums that makes me think this is what all music should sound like. It's atmospheric, evocative, filled with electronic and industrial loops with THE sexiest voice you will hear - Shirley Manson. Most bands get labelled into the alternative music category...Just what is alternative? If it means mixing elements of pop, rock, electronica, industrial and grunge into music which takes you onto a different realm when you're listening to it, then yeah... Garbage is alternative music. This album has a very distinct modern sound to it inspite of it being over 5 years old.

My personal favorites includes 'Trick is to keep breathing'-which happens to be one of my all time favorite tracks and easily the best song garbage will ever write IMHO, 'sleep together', 'Push it'...why am I even listing songs...I love all of them :) .

I have to say I was a little disappointed when Garbage decided to abandon what I thought was their particular brand of music, when they released Beautiful Garbage. I wasn't particularly impressed after listening to that album. But, their music needs to evolve and I was hoping the 'pop' route wouldn't be the direction they took. Oh well...I'll wait for the fourth album. Until then I have Garbage-their debut and this album-Version 2 , which I never get tired of listening to even after so many years.

Buy this album if you like music which pushes the boundaries of modern rock music to create something unique, succeeds and still sounds great.
