And Then There Were Three

I think it's a five star album...

... It's odd production and I think it could have been better. Phil Collins vocals on this album sound like loud backing vocals rather than lead vocals, they're not really in the foreground. But that's when it hit me, there's nothing in the foreground, so it kind of sets up a haunting feel to the album. Everything is sought of in the background. I still wish his vocals were louder. Sometimes he gets drowned otu by the music. But I just love this material so much. It's really haunting, the melodies are complex and interesting and the arrangements are equally ghostly and experimental but it all works. My favourite song is 'the ballad of big', one of two absolutely awesome songs. The other is 'Follow you follow me', the reson I bought the album. 'Snowman' and the blues-rocker 'Deep in the motherlode' are also highlights.
