Genesis

Duke

One of my "desert island" cds...

I'm not going to get into the whole thing about whether this is a beginning or an end for Genesis, or how "commercial" they were starting to become and "bring back the old days with Gabriel" blah blah blah. Quite simply, this is a great album. No, they are no longer singing about Moonlit Knights or Musical Boxes. Instead they're trying to convey the feelings of loss, divorce, and.. adrenaline! I can listen to this album from beginning to end and not get tired of it. The songs are melodic and the lyrics are very insightful. "Behind The Lines" is an awesome track that will get your blood flowing.. as will "Man Of Our Times," "Turn It On Again" and "Duke's End." "Alone Tonight" is a beautiful song, but by far the most hearfelt song on the album is "Please Don't Ask." I challenge anyone to really take the time and listen to this song and not have it strike a sensitive chord deep in your heart. I can't say anything bad about this cd. Get it.
