Gabriel's Imaginary Farewell With Genesis
Review Score:

(10/10)
This album is a real miracle! In the year 1974 Peter Gabriel's wife was a hard pregnant because their daughter was born prematurely and Peter failed attempt at a filmscript. Other Genesis members didn't like that Gabriel's family was more important than his band members. Genesis would had been failed to make their last masterpiece with Gabriel but luckily they found their best sounds ever.
The Lamb Lies Down On The Broadway is one of the best consept albums ever made. Pink Floyd's The Wall has sold lot of more but in my opinion The Lamb is more complicated, lyrically better and it has better more great songs.
Rael from Puerto Rico is the main character and this album tells his strange, interesting, emotional and extraordinary adventure on the New York City. Gabriel has wrote a really weird story that has many deeper dimensions. It is not easy to always to find what he means(especially if you are finnish whose first language is not english) Anyway, Gabriel has succeeded to create a terrific story and imaginary creations that has its own places in the story. I wish that someone would colloborate with Gabriel and they will make together The Lamb Lies Down On The Broadway- The Film(maybe I should write e-mail to Gabriel and he might think about it)
Story and music walks hand in hand through to this album. Instrumental tracks are waiting, shifting, thinking and so on sections. Hairless Heart and The Waiting Room are my favourites if them. The first one a beautiful and emotional ballad, the last one physicedelic and paranoid song. Carpet Crawlers, Anyway, Lilywhite Lilith, The Chamber of 32 Rooms and Riding The Scree are also songs which I specially like.
You can listen to this album by picking your favourites but in that way you miss a lot. The Lamb is album that should listen to through out several times before you find its luxury. It's not to easy find The Lamb's extraordinary world if you are not friend of progressive rock music. This could be first really irritating and hard listening album but you should not give up if you don't like this at after first, second, third or fifht listening times. The Lamb demands over ten listening(or more) to find its world. Of cource, they are people who will never like this kind of music but many people will like this, if they give The Lamb a change to reveal its great moments.
