I liked Wham! when I was a pre-teen and welcomed everything that was popular. I became a rebellious teen and avoided "Faith" simply because it was popular. Since then, I have not paid any attention to George Michael. Now that I am "older" and have listened to all kinds of music, I am rediscovering this talented singer/song writer/entertainer. What a great collection this "Ladies & Gentlemen"! GM's voice is simply marvelous. He can sing much better than people give him credit for. His love for music, especially for soul/R&B comes through with great sincerity. To view these two CD's as a progress of GM's artistic development, I would say his earlier ballads are unmatched by his later works; while his recent dance tunes are superior. Both "Outside" (best/funniest video of all times!) and "Fast Love" (how eerily prophetic!) are extremely well written and polished songs, better than any dance tunes he put out before. I am definitely looking forward to his next album which no doubt will show improvement and maturity! Hopefully he can turn out unforgettables like "Kissing a Fool" and "One More Try" which are truly timeless. Sadly I can only give this collection 4 stars because of the exclusion of the excellent "As" from my American version!!
