(8/10)this album was released at the time of the fusion jazz crossover. it's way more funky than deep purple. i am a purple fan, second generation, but the other solo projects by ex-purple mates are just imitations of the real thing. this album is all about the late 70's rock- funk. you have to develop a taste if it's your first glenn hughes album. his voice has great range and the band is very rhythmic. it's all about the groove.
