Good Charlotte and their contemporaries are a total joke. That includes Smile Empty Soul, Simple Plan, The Exies, Papa Roach, Blink 182, Green Day, and any other rock band with members under the age of 34 that MTV calls "Punk." I'd take the cutesy pop music of the Backstreet Boys over faux-suicidal bands like Good Charlotte that pollute radio and MTV these days. Nowadays, all you have to do to make it big in the music industry is to be a kid who wears black eyeliner, and claim that you: a.) Hate yourself and want to die, b.) Are "ugly", c.) Are "misunderstood and rejected". You don't even have to write your own lyrics either! And, here's the best part: The studio bigwigs will even take care of finding someone to sing for you in the studio so you'll have a backing track to lip sync to on national television. Hey, Eminem even does it. I come from a fairly recent era where bands and musicians used to actually SING, so the idea of fans like you having to pay 65 bucks to see a band mime to music is very foreign and immoral to me. Here's a variety of Rock, Pop, Blues, and Indie music that I recommend instead of whatever the hell you think Good Charlotte is:
