I recently attended a Gordon Lightfoot concert in Naples Fl in which Mr. Lightfoot was very warmly recieved and performed many of the songs from this album. I was so impressed that I purchased it. Although sadly Gordon was not able to capture the spirit and enthusiasm which was evident in his live renditions, and was so clearly present on his album "Somewhere East of Midnight"; the songs are very beautiful and have many clever moments. My favorite is the line from the song "Uncle Toad" that goes "lived in the shade of a utility shack" where he puts the accent on the first syllable in the word "utility". This album has a nice atmosphere even if it is a little too subdued. Gordon Lightfoot you are the Universal Troubadour!
