BRILLIANT, TOPICAL, TIMELESS

This is one of my all-time favorite albums. Ms. Jones tackles a variety of social, personal, spiritual topics. Great production, texture, melody and singing. Very cohesive and unified. A delight from start to finish. Yes, as a few other reviewers mentioned, a departure from her normal style of mostly dance music. Ironically, every tune here is danceable. I am a big believer in allowing artists to grow. Ms. Jones co-wrote every song w/Nile Rodgers, the great writer/producer of Chic. Her unique stamp is all over this album. A bold step with dazzling results.
