I've had an off and on interest in Green Day since I first heard them 10 years ago or whatever, but I've never really been able to get all that into them. From Going to Pasalaqua to Warning, I've really enjoyed a lot of Green Day songs, but any time I've listened to a whole album there have been just too many songs that seemed to drop off in quality. But this album is great from start to finish. The band sounds as loose and energetic as they did on Kerplunk! but much better and more focused from their years of experience. I think a few years out of the limelight and a couple albums that didn't become huge hits might have given the band enough distance from their star status so that they could really concentrate on the music and develop something special.
The title track is an awesome song and the album never drops off afterwards... alot of energy and great lyrics. It's pop punk and its got a message too (the two can go together!)
