They pulled it off!! Despite the naysayers! An album written in the midst of a political crisis, a fragmented fan base and declining sales is actually a friggin' Masterpiece. The first single, American Idiot is only the tip of the iceberg. There are several gems here like the fantastically complex Jesus Of Suburbia, the pounding Holiday, the sing-along friendly Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, the punky-as-hell St. Jimmy, the gorgeous Wake Me Up When September Ends, the amazing rhythm of Whatsername... where do I stop? Every song here is a pleasure to listen to. You know, I always considered Green Day as a somewhat guilty pleasure, maybe because of their slightly kiddish image. No more. This album is a classic!
