Green Day

International Superhits!

Green Day kix and so does the retrospect

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
If you didnt realize this is a retrospect of Green Days "hits". International Superhits has songs back from the album "Kerplunk" (The song "Welcome To Paradise"). What I fins disappointing is that there are no songs from when John was still Green Day's drummer (The album 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours has his work). On the bright side though there are songs like Maria, Poprocks & Coke which were previously unrealesed and the song J.A.R (Jason Andrew Relva) which was one of their songs from "Music From The Motion Picture ANGUS". So those are all pluses. I do feel that they left out some other good songs also like
2000 Lightyears Away and Dominated Love Slave
(From the album "Kerplunk")

Burnout
(From the album "Dookie")

Prosthetic Head
(From the album Nimrod)

Overall though International Superhits did amass some of the greatest Green Day songs. If your a longtime fan this is great for those few songs that were not on other Green Day albums and if your a new fan it's great if you only want some of the great songs by the guys. Personly I think all the Green Day is awesome and I have all their full length albums from 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours to Shenanigans.
Green Day has been able to pull off many diffrent sounds which you can experiance on this album. Just look at "Poprocks & Coke" to "Longview" to "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" to "Minority" and you'll notice each one has a diffrent yet makes you want to sing-a-long sound.
Not only does Green Day have a variety of diffrent sounds but the songs all flow pretty well together. Notice "Longview" leading on to "Welcome To Paradise" and "Brain Stew" leading on to "Jaded".
I've been asked to describe Green Day before and it's almost impossible too. The songs all have diffrent meanings. "Minority" is a protest song, "Longview" is basically talking about the average day bum/slacker, "Poprocks & Coke" talks about dedication to someone. The most meaningful song as I hear though has to be "Good Riddance (time Of Your Life)" which if your still a kid you will probably most likely hear at your summer camps at least once but even when not at camp just makes you think about memories and all the good times.
I've already said a lot and if your still reading your obviously tired of reading this so I'm just going to finish by saying that Green Day is a amazing band that I love to hear all the time and I hope you will too.
