So after I got the CD, I went home and put it in my CD player. I listened to the first two songs (the new ones), which I thought were OK, then skipped to my favorite Green Day song, Brain Stew. I listened to a couple other singles I liked, then went back to the beginning to listen to the whole thing through. It was then that Billie Joe's fake Irish voice began to get on my nerves, and I put the CD away for the day. The next day, I pulled it out again, listened to about five songs, and spent the next week haunted by that horrible voice and avoiding the CD altogether.
So to sum this CD up, I would say it was good due to the fact that it had some of Green Day's best singles, namely Longview, Brain Stew, Jaded, Hitchin' a Ride, Good Riddance (which was good for calming down after Hitchin' a Ride), Minority, and Warning, but bad due to the fact that it had ALL of Green Day's singles. Never have I heard a rock singer that got so annoying so quickly. Ignore the reviews by the young kids, who enjoy sell-out music and have not yet entered the wonderful world of non-sell-out punk. You have to decide if you'll get this CD for the collection of singles and 2 new songs or if you won't get this CD for the voice that won't leave your head for a week.
