Green Day

Nimrod

The best album that I ever purchased.

I don't what I could say about this album that isn't said in the album itself. There is such an eclectic blend of influences and styles. This is definately Green Day's shining moment. This contians some of their hardest and fastest ("Platypus" and "Take Back") to their softest and most "mainstream"("Good Riddance") as well as something totally different ("Last Ride In") I guess there is a little something for everybody so to speak.

.) Nice Guys Finish Last: 5/5. You can't beat this song, the lyrics say it all. The song is just so catchy but it doesn't go so far as being poppy, this is a perfect way to start off a perfect rock record.
.) Hitchin' A Ride: 5/5. One of their singles that is still played live at every show.
.) The Grouch: 5/5. It's so catchy yet so explicit at the same time.
.) Redundant: 5/5. Remember the music video for this song? Wasn't that just the greatest? Well, it's what got me into the band in the first place and I'll never forget it.
.) Scattered: 5/5. This song could have easily made it as a single.
.) All The Time: 4/5. Kind of weak.
.) Worry Rock: 5/5. The double meanings and metaphors that BJ has been known to use in his writings are no more evident that an this track.
.) Platypus (I Hate You): 5/5. The guy BJ wrote this about ironically died.
.) Uptight: 5/5. Why wasn't this one a single, besides the suicide reference, this would be a perfect radio single.
.) Last Ride In: 3/5. A nice departure and shows a new side of the guys, but it bores me most of the time and I usually skip this one.
.) Jinx. 5/5.
.) Haushinka: 4/5. This would have fit in better on "Kerplunk", and actually that's when they wrote it. The song just never made the album.
.) Walking Alone: 5/5. How can you call these guys "pop-punk" with a song as beautifully written as this? Great harmonica use by BJ.
.) Reject: 5/5. A nice song that I can relate to especially because of the line "What's the difference between you and me? I do what I want and you do what you're told."
.) Take Back: 4/5. Short, Sweet, and fast.
.) King For A Day: 5/5. A fan favorite, probably wouldn't have made a good single.
.) Good Riddance (Time of Your Life): 4/5. I enjoyed the original version a little better, it was faster paced.
.) Prosthetic Head: 5/5.
