Green Day

Green Day Singing About Hope? Wrong? No, Oh So Right!

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
This is the final chapter of the holy trinity that is Insomniac, Nimrod, and Warning. Here Green Day look foward to the future that was hinted at in Nimrod. Green Day sing about understanding yourself, being yourself, relying on oneself, and the future. Green day end the album with the verse: "I'm thinking about A brand new hope/The one I've never known/Cause now I know It's all that I wanted". This is the exact opposite of the statement Insomniac opens with: "I must insist on being a pessimist". In the space of three albums, Green Day has laid out a musical mission statement about resolving the past, being who you are, and facing the future with hope. These three albums are my soul and I hope that at least one other person out there has the opportunity to experience them as such. Enjoy!
