The latest offering (bar `International Superhits') from the prestigious punk band is distinctly different to their previous albums. Although it's a lot more geared towards pop than punk, something which is sure to make a few hardcore fans abandon them, their lyrics are still as quirky, individual and fantastic as on `Dooky'. By going for more catchy songs and instruments that now include harmonica and stomping feet the album flows well and will appeal to a whole new audience base. More importantly, they haven't left their old style entirely behind as some people have suggested. This is a new course obviously, but all the best bands have to, indeed should, vary their music to keep themselves alive in an increasingly competitive chart-orientated world.

Certainly, their lyrics are a great deal more insightful and interesting than Blink 182, the other popular punk band. Songs such as `Warning' and `Church On Sunday' are both catchy and intelligent, something of a rarity among the irksome nu-metal and `punk' bands that have surfaced recently to just as much hype as the successful pop bands out there. The real gem on the album though is `Misery', which darkly humorous and intriguing.

Obviously this is no perfect album, but it's definitely one of the better punk albums to have surfaced in the last few years.
