Critics are superfluous when it comes to the music of Harry Connick, Jr. If a recording is good enough for Harry to put his name on it, then you can't do much better. Everything Harry has ever done or will ever do is just sloppin' over with talent and refinement. I have all of his albums, and I admit, I got hooked on him with the "We are in Love" sound. But everything, including She and Star Turtle, rocked the freakin' roof off. The man is simply too good to concentrate all of his energy into one genre. I'm so glad he did projects like She and Star Turtle. And if we all recall correctly, Harry didn't start with big band. He didn't even start off singing. The first Columbia Record was just Harry and his piano. So for all of you "old school" fans, that's what real old school is. Oh yeah, and for the guy who called this album "horrifying" and said Harry betrayed everyone by running off and doing movies...where the heck have you been? Harry's been doing movies since "Little Man Tate", and that was during his first go at the big band scene.

As for this album, yes the title track is HOT!! And no, the rest of the album isn't quite the same tempo, but who cares? If you can't enjoy this album (ESPECIALLY Cry me a River) then seek professional help. Harry will keep cooking till he's unable to do so. So to all the naysayers past, present and future, weep and tremble with fear as the sheer immensity of Harry's talent continues to defy your false criticism.
