What followed were questions like "Should I buy this CD?"
And answers: "Yes"
Now to the point... maybe (as a previous reviewer commented) there is not that much "new" or "different" about Heather Nova's singing or lyrical content or the music. Oh freakin' well. Raise your hand if anybody you know actually listens to music only because its different? *sees 1 hand raised in a million people crowd* ok, I've got that point across.
This is wonderful music, although Heather's voice could have, in some places, had a little more sincerity behind it. Otherwise, her voice is beautiful, in addition to music that makes you listen to it and NOT think "I've never heard this before" but makes you think "this sounds good"
Most of this CD is mid-tempo, with a few rock songs like "I'm the Girl". Many songs are slow-tempo, and these only idolizers of Sarah Mclachlan can truly enjoy.. while the best songs are London Rain, Heart and Shoulder, Valley of Sound, Widescreen and Avalanche - these songs best suit Heathers voice and are wonderful listening.
