Hilary Duff at her best...

To say Hilary Duff has grown up with this album is like saying "The Lord of the Rings" were bad movies. It just ain't true.

While she sounds a little more mature on a couple songs, she's still Hilary, and no matter how many albums she puts out, there's no way she's gonna shed that Disney theme. Some songs are only bareable because they have nice hooks and instrumentals, like "Who's That Girl" (what is that song even about, anyway?) and "Weird", others are hideously reminiscent of the train crash that was Metamorphosis, like "Cry", "Haters", and "Rock This World". However, there are a few tunes that resemble (dare I say it?) good songs. Some of these are "Hide Away", "Underneath this Smile", and the best in my opinion, "Shine".

The one song that actually lets Duff sing is "The Last Song", and though the lyrics are ridiculously juvenile, we can somewhat see what made Duff a singer in the first place. However, even that 1:25 song can't save Duff's sophomore attempt.

You do realize she actually put out two albums in the range of one year? What were we expecting.....something good?
