Thank God for Optimism

Howard Jones=Pop. Simple. From the first track to the last, we see a man grow both musiaclly and lyrically. Standout tracks are What is Love?, Two Souls, and New Song. This material begins with a catchy synth pop reminiscent of ABC and Frankie Goes To Hollywood with one exception, it has substance. The fun continues with the Dream into Action tracks. No One is To Blame and Hide and Seek show he can perform a ballad that does not say "Hey Baby, S'up?", but talk about real feelings and emotions. The albums final tracks go into mature mode. He gives up some keyboards for piano acoustics and blows away Bruce Hornsby. Howard continues to grow both as a songwriter and a performer. Buy this album, it is a great introduction to probablly the most under rated talent of the 80's. This is a great way to see where he is going. People is a good record as well. email me at Luvkaja@hotmail.com for more. His hair may have been bad, but he is a brilliant musician and you won't be dissapointed. Peace.
