One HELL of a 'show'!!!!!!

its funny, being the big Iced Earth fan that I am, i kind of almost never really listened to this cd much.. i dunno, do u ever have those cds u just kinda push to the side and wonder if they're really that good or not? That's how I felt for this cd for a while.. However, this past Thanksgiving, while we were on our way home from my cousin's house, I had my cd player in the car with some cds I don't really listen to that much(I like em, but u know..), so I just put this one in...

I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE REGRETFUL OF THINKING IT WASN'T THAT GOOD!!!!! I played the cd all the way through and headbanged while my brother next to me just, stared....

Make no mistake, this is NOT nearly as good as their masterpiece 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' or their dark and heavy 'Burnt Offerings', but still, it's one EXCELLENT album! The horror movie concept is brilliant- of course,, like Revolver magazine once quoted: "Heavy metal and horror movies go together like emo and crying"- right about THAT allright! lol...

John Schaffer's amazing guitar work and songwriting really stands out, and Matt Borlow sings just as great as ever- shame he's no longer in the band..

My favorite songs on here are "Wolf", "Damien", "Dracula", "Frankenstein", and "Dragon's Child", and of course I love the cover of "Transylvania" by Iron Maiden (Iced Earth covering Iron Maiden... need I say anything more???????)

This cd might not stand out as much as other Iced Earth cds(ie: "Something Wicked" or "Night of the Stormrider"), but it's still excellent- In addition to great music this album also managed to get me back into classic horror movies (I always liked them, but you know, I get so caught up in comedy & action all the time..)

If you love classic horror movies or you're just sick of Korn and Slipknot and want to hear some REAL metal in the vein of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, check this awesome cd out!!!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go watch 'The Wolfman'
