Decent recording but nothing new

The music on Horror Show is pretty good but in parts sounds like something leftover from the 80s. This is not meant as an insult because that was my era as an adolescent. But I already have an extensive library of fine 80s metal and I find nothing on Horror Show that really improves upon it. The main negative is the vocals. He sounds just like Paul Stanley. I can't reconcile Paul Stanley with true heavy metal. This was my first Iced Earth CD, probably will be my last. I would recommend this to younger fans who aren't as familiar with the 80s sound. If you're in your 30s and were a metal fan in high school, you have already heard Iced Earth.
