This cd does indeed kick some serious butt, no one could really dbeny that. It starts off with a firey patriotic / historical opening that even I love (and i'm Canadian..), and it sets the mood for the other equally passion driven, well crafted tracks.
My breakdown is as follows..
The Star-Spangled Banner / Declaration day..... A
When the Eagle Cries........ B+
The Reckoning..... A-
Greenface.... A
Red Baron / Blue Max..... A+ (AMAZING!!)
Hollow Man...... B+
Valley Forge...... A-
Waterloo........ A++ (Even more AMAZING!!)
When the Eagle Cries - unplugged)..... B-
The Gettysburg trilogy...... A
While this album is obviously great, I want stress that I still think Something Wicked This Way Comes is still a superior album. I think its songs are harder hitting and there is is less filler (not to mention the instrumental that should appear here). People interested in Iced Earth should start with Something Wicked, but Glorious Burden is still great.
