Superb! A brilliant, remarkable CD!

I've listened to this CD dozens of times for one basic reason-I love every song. Bluey is the artist supreme, not just creating creating great music, but using so many colors of the palette. His skill at writing and arranging is really unsurpassed in today's music. His choice of vocalists is excellent, with Maysa so rich and husky, and Jocelyn Brown an absolute delight. Her Marrakech vocal is beautifully haunting, but the real joy is the funky More of Myself, a love song song that is sweet, sexy, and sublime. I would love to hear more of Jocelyn Brown! Bluey has made a record that excels in every area: great melodies, superb and ambitious lead vocals with layers of backing vocals, beautiful lyrics, and complex arrangements that make you want to listen again and again. My only disappointment came when I watched the video of Nights Over Egypt included on the CD. The song itself is one of the those extravagant neo-disco things loaded with imagery of a fantastically sexy Ancient Egypt. The video, on the other hand, shows Bluey and a mate driving around Cairo in the back of car trying to look like secret agents. Then there's a skinny model in a hotel room with a briefcase and some magical balls. Maysa and Jocelyn appear only briefly as faces on TV screens! The whole thing looked like one of those cheap British MTV videos from 1981. My advice? Get those beautiful black women up front where they belong! Maysa and Jocelyn are flat-out gorgeous and deserve to be seen as well as heard.
