No Time Like The Future

I remember the days when I enjoyed an artist's music so much; I would purchase their next release with out question. While I wouldn't recommend this, Incognito's last three US release's (100 and Rising, Beneath the surface, and 4 Corners) has put me back into that frame of mind. Incognito's music is becoming more and more "whole album" oriented; all too often today's typical CD's contains two to three hits with the remainder being filler. Now lets get to "No time like the future". The music is consistent with incognito's most recent releases with an eight to four split between vocal and instrumentals (Japan release). Previously I found Incognito's horns a bit overwhelming (remember the 70's funk group Brass Construction), but not with "No time like the future". This CD's sound is mature and with each listen my appreciation grows. My favorite tracks so far include "More and More" for its tempo and simple vocals; "Wild and Peaceful" with its funky piano arrangements, and on and on. "Fearless" is a track that I didn't like with its "yawn like" vocalizations - sounding off trough out an otherwise great jazzy Latin instrumental. If you are a current incognito fan this CD is a must have, and for everyone else this would be a great introduction. I also recommend "beneath the surface", "100 and Rising", and "4 corners".
