Too close to "easy listening"

This CD is somewhat of a disappointment after the
more eclectic Come On Now Social. Gone is Amy's
edgier guitar work, and gone is Emily's foray into
country-pop. What's left is mostly easy listening
punctuated by a few tracks from Amy Ray that keep the
CD somewhat listenable without putting you to sleep.
I wouldn't say this CD is a return to form -- it doesn't
have the spirit of the earlier releases. Does anyone
remember "Kid Fears"? Now there was spirit. This CD,
a few tracks aside (Moment of Forgiveness, Become You,
Bitterroot), is just mushy.
