Indigo Girls have outdone themselves!

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
This CD, while a natural progression for them if you listen to every album since they're first, "Strange Fire", is a total departure from the stereotypical Indigo Girls sound. People tend to pigeon-hole them as soft folk. But this album rocks HARD. Amy Ray has also gotten into bluegrass a little, and it is done with humor and feeling and soul. Emily Saliers, with her sweet, angelic voice, rocks the CD with "Trouble", and Amy uses her low, passion-filled voice to bring a little punk into the mix with "Compromise." "Faye Tucker" was my favorite when I heard it live, and it is still my favorite on this CD (with some Celtic influences, this is absolutely the most amazing song I think I've ever heard) - though it has a tough rival in Emily's "Soon to be Nothing," her best song since "Ghost" off of the album "Rites of Passage." The musicianship, as usual for Indigo Girls, is unrivaled. Just one amazing disk. Off to listen to it for a fourth time...
