A nearly perfect album
Review Score:

(8/10)
In a world where some of the most talented bands go unrecognized it's good to know Jimmy Eat World is the exception to the rule. They have the talent, they have the creativity, and what's even more suprising is they combine the two to make some of the best rock around right now.
"Clarity" was the bands last album with Capitol records, before being foolishly let go. However it doesn't suprise me, albums such as "Clarity" won't impress all those mainstream rock "fans". It wasn't meant for airplay, even though several tracks are worthy, it was meant for those who really could appreciate a good album when they heard it.
From open to close "Clarity" is like an experience, with lyrics that eerily relate to your life. Lead singer Jim Adkins voice smoothly floats into your ears, as if they were meant to be there. The entire band was also on cue, meanwhile the ocassional introduction of non-rock instruments and sounds was welcome as well.
This album is packed full of great tracks such as "Table for glasses", "Lucky Denver mint", "A Sunday" and "For me this is heaven". Closing out the album is the near 17 minute "Goodbye Sky Harbor", an artistic step forward for the band, and like the rest of the album this song is near perfect.
Small things such as questionable transitions from song to song and one or two tracks that could be overlooked, "12.23.95" being one of them, keep "Clarity" from being a 5 star album. However, 4 stars is a great rating, and an album that is so close to perfect is most definetly worth your money.
