A welcome change of pace for me

To be completely honest, the one and only reason I bought this album was to impress a girl, who is a fan of Jimmy Eat World. So, I went to my local Best Buy and picked up a copy of 'Clarity' not having heard one note by (or even heard of) Jimmy Eat World. The music is much slower and softer than what I was used to (me being a big fan of Classic Rock, Classic Punk, and 80's Metal), but I decided that since I had blown $15.99 on this thing, I would make myself used to it. After listening to it a few times, I began to enjoy it more and more. The lyrics are some of the deepest that I have ever heard, and the use of chimes and bells in the background is interesting. Most of the songs have a slow pace, but 'Blister' is an almost punk-sounding song. I like it, but it seems out of place and I think Jimmy Eat World should have put more songs like it on the album to give us a break from the soft stuff. My favorite track would have to be 'Goodbye Sky Harbor.' The song is over 16 minutes long and is mostly instrumental, but it is a really pretty song, and the drums are amazing. Overall, it is a pretty good album, and is a real change of pace from most music coming out today. So, because of 'Clarity,' I found a good album and broadened my musical taste. Unfortunately though, it couldn't get me the girl. :(
