Jimmy Eat World

Jimmy Eat World

A solid album from a great band.

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
This is an amazing album. What's great about JEW is how each full length album sounds different than the last one. They are able to change, stay fresh and still put out a great album. This one is no exception. It is strong from start to finish with songs ranging from slow to fast.

Bleed American: 10/10 It was this song that made me go out and by the album. It's a punk style song but a tad bit slower. The lyrics are pretty good in itself. You may have heard this on the radio as it was the first single. It starts out fast.

A Praise Chorus: 10/10 What more can be said about a song that has Davey from The Promise Ring singing in the chorus? This is another punk style song in that it is a bit fast. It is catchy and you'll find yourself singing along to it.

The Middle: 8/10 You all know this one. It was the big hit off of the album and can be heard everywhere. It has a Blink sound to it. But then again Mark Trombino who has produced all the Blink albums was at the helm for this one and the other previous JEW efforts.

Your House: 8/10 I'm not a fan of this song. It is a bit slower but it just doesn't do all that much for me. Yet for some reason i still sing along to it when it plays.

Sweetness: 9/10 This is a decent track. The follow up to the Middle. A mix between slower and faster.

Hear you me: 10/10 THis is easily my favorite on the album. It is a slower song reminiscent of Clarity. It is such a beautiful song with equally beautiful lyrics.

If you don't, don't: 10/10 Also a fav on this album. It is a little slower but not as slow as Hear you me. The lyrics always have a special meaning to me.

Get it faster: 10/10 This is another great song. This is more punk in style, along the veins of Bleed American. The lyrics are about cheating on a girl. It starts off at almost a whisper and then out of nowhere picks up the pace.

Cautioners: 4/10 Okay there is one track that is not that good. This one is it. It is too repetative of a sound. As much as a i try i just can't listen to it.

The Authority Song: 9/10 This is probably the most poppiest of the songs. But it is quite catchy and will cause you to sing along to it all the time.

My sundown: 10/10 This is probably the slowest of the songs on the album. But it is an amazing track. It starts off slow, yet picks up the pace will staying slow. A great way to end the album.

This is an amazing album that is well worth buying for an introduction into Jimmy Eat World.
