There is no misplaced praise here. Regardless of the minority of bad reviews Bleed American has received, this is a brilliant album and anyone accusing them of attempting to be some sort of intelligent emo Backstreet Boys should seriously watch what they say because a statement like that seems only smack of some sort of regurgitation of something that someone else said or wrote.

Jimmy Eat World have been around, but have only recently gotten the airplay that they deserve. The obvious things that make them and this album great are that they write and play their own original music (a rare thing nowadays) and they have the respect of their peers. Each song can stand alone and the studio production has done nothing to diminish their pure talent.

Bleed American displays their true emo roots in emotion, their heartfelt writing, and the homage they pay to the musicians that have inspired them (Tommy James, U2, Madness, the Cars, etc). This album is sincere, emotional, intelligent and cathartic. It's brilliant. No question.
