a good album but...

...fresh, but retro punk.

Ya gotta appreciate it when something clears the clutter just by being different. Thankfully, we're not talking different for the sake of different.

"The Middle" is a wonderful punk homage, with oddly sweet lyrics. The kind of song a dad might write for his daughter. I'm impressed that anyone would bother with something so simple and innocent anymore.

The rest of the album speeds up and slows down, but it all sounds like one band, not a collection of carefully formulated sales tools. Gotta appreciate that.
