Decent pop-rock

Thanks to the constant airplay of The Middle and Sweetness, Jimmy Eat World became one of the few 21st century bands I'm familiar with. The rest of the album follows the same formula as the radio songs, to about the same effect. There's diversity on here, with Bleed American a decent rock song, and Hear You Me a heartfelt requiem. My major complaint is a lack of complexity. The lyrics are pretty much monosyllabic, and the songs are all simple verse-hook-verse-hook-bridge-hook. Because of that, I'm tempted to drop them to 3 stars, but the band is good at what they do and I have to give them credit for that.
