Remixed by a Killer

When he wrote these songs, John got just about the right balance of mood and atmosphere - not too happy and not too sad - to make this a classic album of adult-oriented rock. Unfortunately, the album was in a sense 're-mixed' in its associations by Mark Chapman when he gunned Lennon down and left Ono a widow. The beautiful balance these songs once had, has now been destroyed by their tragic associations. Who can now abide listening to "Just Like Starting Over" when we know that John's life and his re-emergence onto the music scene is about to be snuffed out in a few short weeks by the assassin's cruel bullet? This is just too painful.
