Great Lennon recording, his last.

I Love this record, except for one thing...Yoko Ono. I know John loved her and she meant the word to him, but she did not need to be on this record. Her songs are crazy awful! You dig it? The first time I listened to this, I was in a record store, and I had to hold back laughter while listening to her songs. John's songs on the other hand are remarkable. "Watching the Wheels" is probably my favorite Lennon song outside the Beatles. His vocals in this song (and many others I should add) are so sincere, that's the best word I can think of to describe it. His lyrics, seems like he's talking about not being in the spotlight for a while and just 'sitting back' and taking it easy. At this point he had been in semi-retirement,and he had spent 5 years, I believe, being a 'family man' with his son and Yoko. "Just like starting over" another great song, it opens up the album. I don't care what people think about this but, It almost seems like he was singing this song in an 'Elvis' like tone. I'm telling you. Listen to this track and you'll see what I mean. I could really almost have heard elvis singing this song, if it were possible. I know it sounds hoaky, but go with me on it. If you buy this record, just skip all the Yoko tracks till later. Once you hear "kiss kiss kiss" you'll know why. Oh also, if you like the Beatles and never heard a Lennon Solo recording, don't listen expecting to hear John Lennon doing his best Beatles album imitation. Fortunately, he never did that. His style was very different at this point (1980). Later
