This is one of the most daring, inventive, and progressive albums of all time! I kid you not. It's her best, my favorite... Right in peak form in 1982, Kate goes to the extreme emotionally/vocally. I wish I COULD find a song to skip on this album. Night of the Swallow swoops and keeps swooping upon you with each repeated refrain. There are loops, swirls and color -- I don't know music terminology... There is immense texture! You see, art terms. This is art-rock after all. And not too girly/wimpette like some of the earlier stuff. The Houdini piece is a great love song. Leave it Open: Ohh, weird background vocals and structure. I'll leave it to a woman to convey her Get Out of My House! Suffice it to say it's about rape(?) Devastatingly fierce! The title track is trippy, Sat in Your Lap is fun, I mean it's not ALL heavy. But it's dense and very very listenable. What a classic.
