In the workings of this albulm, Bush forces the audience to digest her craft with haunted phrases and melodies steming from the subconscience of humanity. Exclaimation, dread, and psycotic joyfulness are the emotions through which charaters are drawn in the record. Simple tunes become strangly complicated when layer upon layer of percusion and vocal lines augment the sound which in turn, tie in even newer musical themes. This results in the constant recreation of framed ideals, a standard in her later work. Paramount enginering brings the peices in and serves as a morter for the songs. The songs themselves ring clearly as individual wholes beloning to a greater work. Each one conjures the personality of another time and the circumstances involved. Basicly, each song is a representaion of a person or character. This is the master-touch! Falling through this album is like meeting a line of people, each with a peculiar drama. It sings with a theatrical flow which pales all the other canned music released in the era of this record's production. Its likes have only been remastered by the incomperable Tori Amos. I recomend "the Dreaming" to anyone wishing to float over the habbit hearing and in to the practice of listening.
