This is the first solo album by an American Idol contestant,and is definitely the best(which really isn't saying much,anyway).Kelly really did surprise me with this one.Her voice is actually very soulful on some of the tracks,including the Musiq-flavored "What's Up Lonely" and the best love song on this album "Some Kind Of Miracle".As a matter of fact,Kelly's voice is even more soulful than Ruben on his new piece of trash "Soulful"!Kind of ironic...anyway,some of the songs are also pretty damn catchy,especially the top ten single "Miss Independent",which sounds like it came of Christina Aguilera because it actually was meant for her in the beginning.And Kelly also proved that she is not some manufactured reality show winner,co-writing 4 of the album's 10 tracks(not including the two "new" mixes).Though the album doesn't bring anything new and it is a little overprouduced and a little too glossy,Kelly's voice covers all of it,sounding as if she was doing this singing thing for more than a decade already.

The Verdict:Kelly shows that not ALL American Idol solo albums are a piece of crap.A good surprise.
