american idol has my vote for being nearly the worst realty television series ever aired & i would be satisfied see it dropped honestly. can we just say that ai really stands for artificial intelligience & we'd be politically correct? however, i do believe they had a remarkable youg woman grace their awful shows in the summer of 2002 & this album is nearly a polished blue print of how truly talented ms. clarkson really is. although thankful is a very thoughful & enjoyable mainstream album, don't expect it to the pivotal point in top forty music nor anything remotely new in style because you'll be severely disappointed. on the other hand, the album is rewarding because kelly has an incredible strong voice to be so young & it's her voice alone which makes each of these songs entirely hers. otherwise, the album could easily be kicked to the curb. you have to respect this woman for maintaining her identity & not giving in to the temptations or succumbing to the deathtrap of modern music which is inevitable with so many artists on the scene today. ms. clarkson is unapologetic in her attempts to have fun, sing beautiful ballads, & remain a wholesome young woman at her peak. although most of the material here works well & is lively, i really do have to give her the most credit for covering the virtually unknown danielle brisebois tune 'just missed the train' & she really does it justice. if this is any idiction whatsoever as to how succesful her career in music will be in the not-so near future, we are all in for some pleasant surprises. my hat's off to you kelly!! keep up the good work & stay sweet.
