What strikes me is the purity of the sound in this album. The reverbed vocal the repeting guitar play and the touch of the cello and the backing vocals. Its brilliant. The reverbed vocal make it sound like he is sitting out somewhere in space singing, all alone. Yeah. And his freezing. It sounds cold and dark out there. You can easily hear who has inspired artists like Nick Cave and Tom Waits.

"Diamonds in the mine" is a funny song which brake up with the rest of the tracks. It sounds like Leonard's drunk.
