I am so moved. I neglected LC for probably 25 or more years. On a whim, I purchased this cd. The poetry is so striking...clear yet oblique at the same time. The voice far more soothing than in the 70's....Hard pressed to say which cut on the CD got to me the most...depends upon one's personal struggles...but In My Secret Life...oh Leonard, how did you know? And Babylon? Were you watching me? Each and every poem/song has something to offer ... and what's truly great is that this soul-searching meandering is in no way depressing...it is life-affirming. It speaks truly to the issues we encounter ... fidelity, enduring love, love found, love lost...but never with disdain, always poignant and with the quality of passion that just leaves me steaming. Some of LC's earlier tomes just tore me up so bad I couldn't go there anymore. This is mature, honest, confessional, and liberating. I admit, I write poetry, so I cannot evaluate with any expertise the musical elements. I just loved the whole cd. Just loved it. Buy it. You won't be sorry. It will grow on you in just a few hours. It is like a drug for one's emotions. It is awesome.
