Lenny for Jesus!

Looks like ol' Lenny is back on Boogie Street. He can still write and sing like no man's god, but he's gotta cut the annoying addiction to chintzy drum loops. Give me Lenny in a room with only his voice and the sound of fingers tapping on the table-top any day. That's not to say that this isn't great stuff. After all, this is the real deal new material - not the retread best-of albums we've had to content ourselves with over the last few years. "Ten New Songs" is just that - ten NEW songs to sink our teeth into, and though this album isn't quite on par with "The Future" or "I'm your Man", it runs a damn close third. I'm looking forward to wearing my CD player out on this one.
