One of the best albums of 1985. The original line-up of Level 42 was magical. Mark King is by far one of the greatest bass players ever. His vocals paired with Mike Lindup's falseto provided some fantastic harmonies. While this version does not include some of the songs on the UK version, it is still a solid album. There's more here than the top 20 hit "Something About You." The title track, "Hot Water" and "The Chant Has Begun" have an impecable groove. "Lying Still" and "Leaving Me Now" (with a great piano solo) capture the emotion of a broken heart. The instrumentation of bass, keyboards, percussion and subtle guitar combined with fantastic vocal harmonies make the listener wonder why US radio ignored the rest of the album.
