I'm tired of people talking about what's "real" rap and what's "fake" rap. This is rap. It might be commercial rap, but it's still rap. Every genre has it's pop sub-culture (Country has Shania Twain and Faith Hill, R&B has B2K and Brandy, Rock has too many to name) and rap isn't excluded from this. The 14-year old reviewer from Southern Cali sounds so much like all the other reveiwers "keepin' it real". Give me a break. Pop music bridges a gap in a lot of listeners' preferences. It introduces people to music they would otherwise ignore. Albeit it's "commercial" (ooh taboo), it does serve a purpose. People hear the music on the radio, in clubs, at their freinds' house, etc. and they like it so they go out and buy it. They like, or in some cases don't like, what they hear so they start shopping around for a better example of the genre and are introduced to the "real" versions of rap, country, rock, R&B,... Stop hating, people. Really. It gets a little old. Yeah, most people know this (Lil' Jon) probably isn't the best of rap and most people don't care. People try to "represent" by touting the "true" rappers: Nas, Outkast, 2Pac, Mos Def, Rakim, etc. and it gets kind of old. Yes, I know they're good, but they aren't going to appeal to most of the commercial market, which is what Amazon.com is all about. If it wasn't for pop-rap, rap itself wouldn't be as popular as it is today.

I'm giving the CD a 4-star rating because it did what it was intended to do, which is make a lot of money and nothing else, so please stop saying it (pop-rap in general, this CD specifically) is not "real". We already know that thanks to hundreds of other "true" reviewers.
