Lil Jon & East Side Boyz

Kings of Crunk

Hmmm...

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (6/10)
I think that effectively reviewing this album for any one crowd (i.e. People who listen to Dirty South style rap, West Coast Rap, Mid West Rap, etc.) is next to impossible, but here is an unbiased opinion...

Yes the beats are off the map, yes there's a lot of krunkness in the album, yes there are lots of club anthems on this album...and that's just about it. I'm not knockin Lil' Jon or nothin, but I prefer just a little more variety and depth with in my music. I wouldn't really call this a hip hop album, but then again, what's hip hop anymore? Whatever the radio and television tells you, that's what. Lil' Jon is tight with me, but a bunch of songs about "Knockin Head's Off", dirty-dancin females, and a lot of general screaming is only tight for so long. It's up to you to buy the album, of course. Just don't expect anything too serious out of it. I'll give Lil' Jon his props for accomplishing what this album was made for...getting people uneccesarily krunk. But if that's not why you're buying this CD, then stay away from it because you won't be happy if you buy it.
