Hmmm, nice, I like it

Ok, when I heard about this album, I was under the impression they would come up with new material but then I heard that it was going to be a mix of there old stuff on it. ::sigh:: I honestly didnt want to know anymore about it. I honestly thought this was not going work out at all. Then I preview the album (I'm a big Jay-Z fan, and Linkin Park is really the only rock group I like, mostly because I dont get introduced to the genre much) and I was impressed on how they did. This album something they wanted to do for fun to test the waters out. It doesnt sound bad at all.
1. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying from You (5/5) Ok, I'm going to need forgiving on this one, but when the Linkin Park started doing his thing on the Timbaland beat, it sounded pretty good, except for the synthezised part. Jay-Z's part seems to fit so well with the rock in the background. Especially the chorus.
2. Big Pimpin'/Papercut (5/5) This was funny. I enjoyed this because I never thought Papercut would fit so well with this beat, its ridiculous. Its just sounds great.
3. Jigga What/Faint (7/5) To me best track on the whole thing. Faint is probably my favorite track off the Meteora track, and how they encorporated the violin type sound with the Jigga What beat sounds sick. Then when came the Linkin Park to spit, it just fit so well. Then reversing the rolls was nice too. I wish they did this earlier when Jigga What came out.
4. Numb/Encore (3/5) I didnt think it was that great, but it wasnt bad at all. Only because I prefered the orginal encore beat, and I really liked Numb as it was, so I guess thats why I didnt show much love for this track.
5. Izzo/In the End (3/5) I like how Linkin Park the intro, on a classic Jay single. But I didnt think Linkin Park fit so well in this song, but I really like the beat.
6. Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer (5/5) Wooooo, hot sh** right here. No offense to Rick Rubin (the guy who produced the orginal 99 Problems track, co-founder of def jam, the ZZ Top looking guy in the video, a little hip hop knowledge for you all), but Linkin Park made an already hot track even hotter. Its weird how well it synched together.
I really wish there could have been more tracks done like this, but I guess its probably better that it wasnt. And I just want people to approach this album as something fun and out of the ordinary, because I'm hearing to many people going "Jay-Z messed up Linkin Park" or "Linkin Park messed up Jay-Z" because thats just showing favoritism, and thats just ridiculous. Come on, its a fun album, enjoy it, and stop complaining and let more different forms of music come together like this more often.
