I am very open minded to all kinds of music, when I first heard the single "In The End" I liked the emcee's flow and decided to check out the album. However, it wasn't what I expected, it is somewhat mixed between Metal and rap and electric, thats why it is called hybrid theory. Here are some of the pluses of the album: the emcee has a nice flow and some nice rhyme and delivery (despite some claim that he doesnt write his own rhymes), some melodies they sing are okay and the verses are alright. Despite all the pluses, here are the downfall of this album: some say they don't make their own music, they screaming of the lead singer is repetitive, the topic of their lyrics are mostly depressing. Some will like this album and the style this group brings, some will hate it with a passion. Some will like the verses that they deliver, some will choose pure metal or pure rap. I am one of those people that's in between. The depressing lyrics is definitely a minus and I don't really find them great but you got to admit that the verses are said nicely and the production sounds great. I liked this album pretty much because of the smooth delivery and some of the nice verses sang or spat by the singer or the emcee although some are not so great.
