--Foreword: It's just 13 seconds of noises to kick off the next song (don't skip it though, it isn't that stupid). They separated it from the next track so that you won't get the stupid Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon effect. what a [bad] album-i dont care who says it was groundbreaking-it was boring and quiet and didn't do anything that hadn't been done before. I would give DSOTM a 2/10, but this track is a lot cooler with the breaking glass sound that actually ties in: 10/10
--Don't Stay: A really pounding song with Chester at his best. this definitely brings linkin park back to the rockers who drifted away at the realease of Reanimation, but it's only a moodsetter for the album and the next song. 9/10
--Somewhere I Belong: This is the hit that took Mtv by storm. It soars with expert sampling, Mike's hard-driven lyrics, and Chester's heartfelt backup. If you liked Crawling, don't miss this. 10/10
--Lying From You: Hard guitar, beautifully coordinated sampling and a performance from Mike and Chester that has become tradition of excellence in LP. Nothing to make me dislike it. 9/10
--Hit The Floor: A somewhat smoothe song with a great beat, although a tad predictable. Mike does most of the singing, while Chester screams away. But the emotion doesn't really pick up enough after the first chorus like they usually do... 7/10
--Easier To Run: This gets right back to the classic Linkin Park though, so it balances out the last one. Beautiful lyrics. 9/10
--Faint: This drives home a great drumbeat that gets you pumpin. When Mike and Chester trade parts it's a lot better than #5. 9/10
--Figure.09: Creative, but a bit disappointing. It's not up to par. 6/10
--Breaking The Habit: If somehow your mind wandered off during the last couple tracks, this'll bring it right back with its iron-wrought lyrics. 10/10
--From The Inside: If you saw it on $2 bill, you recognize it immediately. Starts off very well. 10/10
--Nobody's Listening: Begins with some Bruce Lee kung fu wood-winds. Add a pounding beat and intimidating performance by Mike and this isn't a bad song. This is kinda weird but it's a big part of the album, diversifying it enough to be embraced by those who respect Linkin Park's artistic realism. 8/10
--Session: Kind of like the one on hybrid theory, it's all instrumental. Listen in headphones to catch the turntable better. 9/10
--Numb: Not Dumb. Last song, like By myself on Reanimation. It's quieter and has Chester singing and Mike filling in the gaps. It's not to be underspoken, this is great. "Every second I waste is more than I can take.." 9/10
That's all of 'em. If you still aren't convinced that Meteora is worth buying right now, just wait til everyone else has the cd (which has bonus materials that you can't get by ripping off the cd)... Then you'll know that more people like Linkin Park than you realise. ...
