This Is A Good Album - Despite What All The Haters Say

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (8/10)
First of all - I NEVER write reviews because most people [...] at writing them. They oftentimes NEVER help me. I really don't give a crap what rating on a scale from 1 - 10 you give a song. But you know what does help me? Comparing it to other albums or other bands that I might know or like. But does anybody hardly ever do that? NO!

Anyhow, the only reason why I am writing is because I cannot believe how many people are hating on this album! What is the deal? I really think the root of the problem is that all these death band fans are deeply pissed that they got suckered into a band that is more mainstream than they prefer, so all they can do is hate on them in retaliation. It is just like when New Kids were huge when we were in elementary school, then next year everybody hates them because it was cool to? Come on, people - grow up! We all have different tastes in music. If this isn't your "cup of tea" go back to your Cannibal Corpse and Slayer and Korn and Pantera and Anthrax and Biohazard and Kill your Mother and whatever else helps you go to sleep at night. But quit cryin' your damn river - really!

Personally, I think it is a great album, from the very first listen. Maybe I don't have the most discerning ear for what is good music - I don't care. If it sounds good - it sounds good! I don't get all deep into if the lyrics are thoughtful and enriching... Hell, I'm lucky if I understand lyrics! And I don't know music well enough to realize if they keep playing the same D chord or whatever people say to take down this band however they can... Once again, if it sounds good, fine. But if it doesn't - go back to what you like!

Personally, I like all kinds of music - within the rock genre... From the Seattle bands: AIC - Soundgarden - Nirvana - PJ, to Jerry Cantrell (basically a Seattle band) to Smashing Pumpkins to Days of the New to Megadeth AND Metallica to Project 86 to White Zombie to Dire Straits to REM to Mazzy Star to Candlebox to Nickelback to Hole to A Perfect Circle to Audioslave to Bush to Tool to Green Day to Weezer to STP to Beastie Boys to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Offspring to Eminem to Matchbox 20 to Avril Lavinge to Stone Sour to Michelle Branch and even Nelly Furtado and Bruce Hornsby, I listen to what I like!

So if you don't like it, or if you outgrew it, great for freakin' you! But please quit the hating! Music is personal and subjective. Just because you think it [...] - DOESN'T MEAN IT DOES... It only means that [...] because you aren't tolerant of other music, even within your own genre. I mean, if you were hatin' on boy bands or opera or country or thugster rap or best of all - Nick and Jessica, that's all good:) But when you are hating on rock music that isn't hard enough - you are just being immature and shortsighted. It's just like how guys on Harleys will NEVER wave at guys like me who ride crotch rockets... What the hell? We are all in it together, putting our lives on the line, riding our motorcycles in a world of vehicles. Same thing with rock music... We are all in it together!
